With his contract with Werder Bremen coming to an end next season, Mesut Özil, the successful German player of Turkish heritage, has now signed on to a transfer to Spain's prestigious team Real Madrid.
Having garnered much success by shining in the World Cup, Real Madrid has offered to pay 15 million euros for the 21-year-old's transfer. As the first-ever Turkish player to join the Spanish team, it appears Mesut has signed on to Real Madrid for the next six years. This equates to a total pay out of 45 million euros by Real Madrid. According to sources, Özil will be signing the six-year contract in an official signing ceremony to be held in Madrid today.
