"Liverpool FC can confirm that Academy forward Daniel Trickett-Smith has completed a move to Sacramento Republic FC in the USA," a statement on the Reds' official site read.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder joined the Merseyside club from Crewe Alexandra for a reported £300,000 ($435,000) after Liverpool beat off competition from Manchester City. He has been a regular in the U21 side for the past two seasons but failed to break into the first team.
Trickett-Smith expressed his delight at signing for the United Soccer League — the third tier in America — club and thanked all the players and staff at Liverpool for their support during his four-year stay at Anfield.
"Want to say a massive thank you to everyone at LFC — staff, players and especially the fans for the support over the years. Unbelievable fans," he wrote via his official Twitter account.
"Happy to have signed for Sacramento Republic FC. Can't wait to get over there and start playing," the attacking midfielder added.
Sacramento Republic are managed by former Bristol Rovers boss Paul Buckle, who was delighted at his latest capture and is hoping that the midfielder settles down quickly in his new surroundings.
"We are looking forward to working with Daniel Trickett-Smith. He is someone that I have seen play, I have seen train and he is a very, very talented player. He can create and score goals and we really hope that he settles in quickly and shows Republic FC fans what a great player he is," Buckle, who is also the club's technical director said, as quoted on the Republic FC's official site.
